...Hearts....

'Tis the season for lots of hearts. Which is fine by me because I never get tired of doing them. It's a welcome, happy break when it's all doom and gloom outside your windows, you know? :)

How many hats do you need to knit before it's a 'thing'? This is my third hat completed in four weeks. lol

(Irish Hiking Hat - free online pattern - done in about $5 of Patons Classic Wool. Very easy. Knitted up in TWO days!)

Also finished?
The freaking mittens I started back in SEPTEMBER. Feels good to finally be done with these. The yarn is a Shetland wool so it's sticky, sticky, sticky to work with and I would get annoyed with the two colors constantly twisting all up in each other's 'business'. (I've given up on learning how to do Fair Isle knitting using two hands, which would minimize those sorts of yarn issues. My left hand REFUSES to learn it. Um, hello - I AM LEFT-HANDED???? Why for you fail me left hand??
Grrrr.)

Makes for a very woolly and warm mitten though!! These will be quite nice when walking outside.

Annnnnnnd, now I have exactly ZERO knitting WIP's left to tackle, thank you very much. Can get started on the massive pile of stitching WIP's now. (Soooooooooo many to get through. *sigh*) I really am going to try to add AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE to the stash this year because it's totally, totally out of hand. 2013 is for stash busting!!!!!

It's so durn cold out though I might have to start a knitting project soon just to give the ILLUSION of warmth around here because...........BRrrrRrrrrrr! So cold. lol

Sounds like that lovely new hat and mittens will be put to good use right away.

I'm trying to make 2013 a stash down year too, but I am not doing so well. A new skein of sock yarn found it's way to my house.

Love those mittens! Everytime I see mittens I want to make up a pair but then I remember I'm even slower about knitting than stitching and change my mind! lol! Can't wait to see what stitching wips make an appearance. Love the beads too.

Such cute beads! And your knitting ~ love, love, love!! It's not something I have ever tackled, but sometimes I think I should try (although, that would be another stash addiction)....

Yay for finishing up all those knitting WIPs--and each project is prettier than the next. Really, Melanie--you do amaze me with your crafty skills :)

Such adorable beads (especially the polka dot ones!)--I'll bet you love this time of year the most (well except for the fact that you can't ride your bike in this frigid weather!).

Those mittens are AWESOME! Awesomesauce with a side of amazeballs!! (Eh, that's probably the other way around.) Of course, you knit them in a gorgeous blue, so of course I'd be in love. The cuffs are a great detail.
