Mmmm...mmmm!

I really am getting excited for Thanksgiving now!! I don't like doing endless amounts of dishes but I *DO* like cooking everything.........and EATING it, of course. :) Tomorrow is all marked off to get a bunch of dishes cooked off, like the cranberry sauce and stuffing so Thursday won't be a frantic scramble to get it all done at once. Friday we are going to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra play at Mohegan Sun and then Saturday is back to work. (Hopefully for me too because my new torch is here - just waiting to hook it up now.) And MAYBE there will be a little shopping in there. All online though because I don't have the patience for that kind of nonsense in person. Heh.

Anyhoo it's been nice to have the whole week off from work. I've been keeping myself busy, busy, busy none the less. During the course of the week I have:

Started/completed the second part of the L*K mystery sampler. I'm feeling pulled to go on to some Xmas stitches now but I really should stick with this to finish it. *sigh*

Started/completed a pair of purple people eating striped socks.

Got a good start on the next pair of socks. Simple 'stems' pattern in an alpaca blend so it's SUPER soft. This yarn, I must say, isn't knitting up at all like I thought it would. It's got a random striping thing going on that I like but I wouldn't have EVER guessed it was going to do that based on how it looks caked up.

Finished up a couple of throw pillows for the guest bedroom that I've been ignoring had on tap since last spring. I finished one of the flower pillows back in May or so and then, uhhhhh, kinda 'forgot' I had purchased enough fabric and pillow inserts for THREE pillows. This is a super wonderful, heavily embroidered/woven designer fabric to the tune of $50+ a yard so yeah. NOT WASTING IT. Very glad to finally have these done!

Finished washing up the last of the hand knits for winter. I still have more scarves stored but I don't think I'll end up actually wearing them - we have enough out now to rotate through. Could really use a pair of gloves/mittens in a brownish theme though now that I've gone through them all.....must start stash/pattern diving to see what I can do about that...

What else? Hmm...

  • I 'hemmed' a couple pairs of new yoga pants. (If you call lopping off the bottom five inches 'hemming'. I call it more like 'reconstructing'. Oh the perils of being really really short! lol)
  • Finished up the three books I had in progress - two good (Shadow of Night/Immortal in Death), one really really bad (Daisy Doolittle Does Divorce). The really really bad one I got at the church sale for $0.50 so no big whoop there. I'll donate it back to them next year so someone else can be afflicted with it. MWAHAHAHAHAHA *evil*
  • Made some really fabulous suppers.
  • Haven't checked my Fitbit but I probably walked about 26-28 miles.
Pretty productive week, right?? I'm not kidding when I say I'm not a person who EVER gets bored. :)

Have a great holiday weekend to those of y'all who are celebrating and to those who aren't, you can still have a great weekend, right??

Okay that is BEYOND productive and sliding into some kind of "affliction" that is deserving of medical attention! Wow! Love both pairs of socks - the pillows are fab too. At least there was time to read thrown in there, or I'd have been really, really, really worried about you!
