Obsession over.

A fun little project for the holiday.

Little Cotton Rabbits free pattern, heavily modified because I did mine in the round vs. her doing 'em flat and seaming them up the backside.

I think in my mind I wasn't going to be happy until I hit an even dozen of these little jobbies and I was having fun coming up with new ways to do the designs but then the last one popped out like this:
Uh. Can you say totally BANANAS?
I mean look at the design on this thing!?! These aren't meant to be worn by actual PEOPLE, you know.

So that was when I knew I had to quit before I started charting out, like, the New York landscape in wee sock form or something EQUALLY RIDICULOUS.

So, obsession over. They are put away until next Christmas where I will............I don't actually know what to do with them, to be honest. Put them on the tree? Maybe do a garland/stocking thing on the stairway banister? I just kinda liked knitting them. I didn't really care what they were for, you know? lol

During the holiday I also managed to correct an egregious wrong around here. Mr. Pigeon from The Pigeon Loft came with a most handsome Santa hat when I got him but, alas, when Miss HennyPenny joined the fold she was, quite sadly, sans hat. You can imagine how she felt about this.

Those little beady eyes just stare straight into the depths of your soul, don't they? *shudder*

So I made her a styling hat too, complete with handmade pom-pom. (Which was quite the experience as it was twice as big as that when it started and then I trimmed and trimmed and trimmed and OMG I HATE MAKING POM-POMS.) So then I stuffed them both into the Xmas tree, per usual, with their hats and all was right with the world. The End.

I'm going to have to knit some of these! I haven't looked at the pattern yet - was the modification hard? Are you willing to share/sell your pattern for the last one? It is DARLING! My favorite of the bunch.

I'm left-handed and have never dared to knit - but boy oh boy are those socks ever so cute - and so are your two birds - very darling - I'm beyond envious of your many talents!

Cute stockings! They would be great for advent with a little surprise in, but then that would mean you would have to knit more :-)

Those little stockings are the cutest! Love that final one you did.

Miss Henny Penny looks quite stylish in her new chapeau. I'm sure she's feeling quite glamorous.

ROFLMBO!!!! Great post Melanie!

I think those little socks are adorable no matter what the pattern. They will look great no matter where you put them.

As for Ms. HP, she does look happier with her new hat ;o)

Cute little socks! I can understand the obsession and Miss Henny Penny is so cute! I am sure she is much happier with a hat especially with cold CT weather. =)

I LOVE those baby stockings! i usually knit some sort of miniature ornament for my co-workers every year (all 15 of them) and I ran out of time this year. These look like they would fit the bill for next year.

Love your birdies. That hats just make them ever better!

Henny Penny is indeed stylin' in her new hat. I can see how she "forced" you into it. I couldn't have resisted that stare either.

If you made 25 of those little stockings you could have a cute little advent chain --- looks like they are the perfect size to hold a piece of candy.

And what a sweet obsession it was while it lasted! Love 'em. But I have to admit I love those chickens better (and their hats too of course!) They totally remind me of the chickens in the movie Chicken Run, lol!

Stockings. SO. CUTE. You can always send me one if you can't think what to do with them. ;) I really do like your bananas one, too. It's over the top in exactly the right way.

Miss HennyPenny reminded me just a little too much of Feathers (from Wallace and Gromit) before she got her hat. Glad you have pacified her!
