God, here's something I haven't thought about in FOREVERRRRRR.

Loop loom potholders!

I loved making these sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much when I was a kid. Totally forgot about them until I saw the latest post by The Felt Mouse which had a picture of some of them. I probably made well over a hundred of these suckers during the course of my childhood. lol (The nylon loops were 10 times better than the cotton ones too. Those cotton ones could be tricky at the end to bind off!)

I need another hobby like I need ANOTHER HOLE IN MY HEAD or I totally would get into weaving. On a 'real' loom. POTHOLDERS FOR GROWNUPS, ONLY IN THE SIZE OF SCARVES AND TABLE RUNNERS, OMG WANT WANT WANT. Gah!

In other news, no one is going to wrestle my World's Klutziest Woman crown from me anytime soon as I managed to pull a muscle in my back this morning by doing the incredibly difficult act of..................walking through my kitchen to get from one side of the room to the other.  WTF? Why do I always get hurt doing NOTHING? lol Something seized up like OW and now I have a ball of evil in the middle of my back, taunting me and poking me. Stoopid back!

Ouch! I hope your back feels better soon.
If I had time, I would try so many more hobbies than the millions I have tried already. I'd love to try spinning one day.

Ooh, that sounds painful! That's exactly the sort of thing that would happen to me too. Hope your back is better soon!

@Marnie - I'm still trying to work on the hubby about getting the pretty fuzzy bunny. (The seller is going to be at another show close by in two weeks.) If I do, I'll send you the fur to spin up. *evil grin*

@Karen - Thanks, sweetie!! I'm hoping the Advil I just took tames it enough for me to get some work done this afternoon. :(

@Melanie - hahaha Thanks! I keep threatening to collect the cat fur and start spinning up some yarn, but I haven't done it yet. Fuzzy bunny fur might be too hard to resist though and just push me over the edge into spinning as a hobby.

That last Sheep/wool fair I went to had a seller selling yarns with all sorts of bases - including dog yarn. Samoyed, if I remember correctly. Wasn't overly soft so I didn't fall in love with it. I almost fell for some qiviut (muskox) though. Soooooooooooooooo soft!!

Backs are so sensitive. I've had that happen countless times. Relax, rest, and ibuprofen should help.

I made a ton of those potholders when I was kid too. One of my favorite toys!

I used to do these too! I even found one of mine in a drawer at my Dad's when moving him out of his house. They last forever.
I know what you mean about hurting yourself doing nothing. Ever wake up in pain because you "slept wrong"? Talk about WTF.

I love those! I got one for both of my girls and was instantly taken back to the 70's. Fun stuff.

oh, I remember those potholders! My sister and I made a bunch of them when we were kids too. ;)
