Busy busy busy as a bee.

Catching up to orders again after getting behind a bit last week with the 'no power' thing= NO FUN AT ALL. Quite frankly, I'm a little mentally tired of making beads after going non stop on them now for a full week without a break. One more long work session and I'm caught-the-hell-up so weeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Because of that and all the mess of last week we didn't get to go to the Fair all weekend long like usual but we whooped it up Fair-style Saturday night.

I never ever get tired of yakking with and petting the sheepykins in the sheep barn and oogling at all the crazy chicken breeds, especially this 'headless' poufy, rock star wonder:
Crazy, right? Poor thing couldn't see a THING.

I could post, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, about a gazillion more cow, bunny, steer pulling, kart racing, crazy food pictures but I don't want to bore y'all. My love for the Fair knows NO BOUNDS but I fear I'm in a lonely group. lol

So tomorrow is a day off. Where I get to take my poor ailing Nitwit to the vet one last time and see if the doctor can talk me into not putting her down. :(

Guys, I can't put up with the peeing around the house any more. :(
I never thought I would be one of 'those' people who would do something like this but it's been going on since last December or so and she's had multiple blood tests, xrays, special foods, two rounds of expensive medicine, new litter box set-ups, etc. to the tune of almost $1,000 now and NOTHING has helped. NOTHING. There hasn't been a single bit of progress with her peeing on throw rugs, any bit of clothing you leave hanging around (including laundry) and chairs. (Hell, sometimes it's just straight up on the bathroom floor.)

She's 15 and is obviously suffering from some sort of medical issue (always tired, drinks too much water, somewhat dodgy liver/kidney numbers) but it continues to evade diagnosis and now I'm just...........done. She's jumping up on things now to pee on them so literally nothing is safe and I don't know what else to do. Every vet visit is another $200 because of the testing and I can't do it anymore. (Between her and Mooshie's gimpy tail, this year has been a huge money drain, vet bill wise. It makes me a little nauseous to think about it actually.) I feel horrible about it but she's had a long life and she's clearly been feeling dumpy for at least 10 months now. He might have one last 'miracle cure' tomorrow but I'm not holding my breathe. *sigh*

(Note: she still uses the litter boxes just fine in addition to this. It's like she drinks a gallon of water some days - but not always - and then can't tell when she needs to go so she just goes on the first fabric thing she sees. But when she's having a feel-good day, she makes it to the litter box just fine. There just aren't many 'feel good' days left anymore though as the months go on.)

I'm so sorry about Nitwit :( That's a hard decision to have to make. I hear you on the vet bills - we've spent quite a bit already this year and if it looks like Maisie definitely does have asthma, as we suspect, then that means regular-ish checkups and permanent medication :( Ugh. Sending you good thoughts - I'm sure you'll make the right decision.

Looks like you had fun at the fair! Love the crazy chicken with the hairdo. I'm sorry to hear about Nitwit. It's a tough spot to be in. I know you'll make the right decision for you both. *hugs*

I'm a fair geek too. Love the animal barns. Unfortunately, our fairs here don't do animals...basically it's just the midway. :-(

I'm sorry to hear about Nitwit, but at 15 there are probably just things that can't be resolved. Hoping the best for you and Nitwit. Hugs.

So sorry to hear about your Nitwit... I hope the vet visit makes the decision making easier (if there is such a thing) and that it brings you both some peace. Hugs to you both :)

Oh that's so sad about your Nitwit. :( I totally understand though. It doesn't sound like there's much choice. And Nitwit might not be enjoying life anymore either. Hugs. Glad you're almost caught up with beadwork. We're still working on cleanup from Irene. Ugh.

I know what you're going through with Nitwit. Our little Shadow did the exact same thing. Made us pick up the laundry. Unlike dogs, cats cannot tell you when they are hurting and you just have to feel your way along and in the long run do what is best for your pet. Just follow your heart and you'll do fine.

K love, love, love all the pics from the fair! You are not boring me one bit! I wish that I could be there too, so I could cuddle with the goats and sheep!

I am so sorry about your baby. I have not been in the "dragged out" situation, but I can imagine that it would be really hard (yep, we have some serious vet bill too...). It is always hard when a pet gets sick. You want to do all in your power to help get everything back to normal again and sometimes it does not help that hope persists.
I am thinking about you and Nitwit. Take care and hugs!

I'm so sorry about Nitwit. Big hugs--I know it's hard no matter what.

Love the fair pics--though I'm glad I'm not eating chicken tonight. LOL

Love your fair photos, Melanie--those chickens are amazing!

Poor Nitwit looks just like my dear Shadow cat did four years ago before we said goodbye to him. We had nursed him along for 1 1/2 years, but I finally knew it was "time." It comes down to quality of life for the kitty, I think, and he was just barely getting by. It was the hardest decision I've had to make and I still miss him dreadfully. Good luck, Melanie...

A friend of mine just had to make the same decision. It must be so hard. My sympathy goes out to you and Nitwit.

I'm so sorry about Nitwit...it's such a hard decision to make. It certainly sounds like she is having liver/kidney failure~~a couple of our pets went through that. {{hugs}}

Oh Mel, I feel for you :o( It's hard making a decision like that but ask yourself, do you want to come to resent Nitwit and make the situation even worse? That wouldn't be good for either of you. Did they test for diabetes?

LOVE the pictures of the fair! I miss going to one :o(
