Finished sewing up yarn ends last night on my 'Olympic' squares.
I ended up with a dozen knitted over the course of the Olympics, plus I had 6 floating around from spring that I had never sewed up.
So that's 18 new squares added to the total........bringing me to 48 now.
OMG THAT'S IT?
Sheeeeeeesh. I'm really in this for the long haul, eh?
Oh well. It *is* a nice way to use up the 9,998 yards of scrap yarn balls I have floating around the house.
Onward to other projects now. I definitely need a nice, long square breather. lol
I may or may not have gone back to the book sale for a second go-through. It's not my fault though as I go RIGHT BY the church on my way to the post office. How could I not stop again, right? It only goes on once a year!
So, yeah. I now have enough books to last me until....... PROBABLY FOREVER.

Okay - the colors of your squares are SO very cool! What an eye and clever way to use up bits of leftover yarns. And hey, you can't have too many books! In my family if you don't have a stack of 6-12 unread books my your bedside, then you are about out of reading material!
ReplyDeleteWell the squares are gorgeous all together! This will be a fun piece when done. Heck, it's fun now! lol about the book sale. Can't reist those prices, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy! Nice work :)
ReplyDeleteThat blanket will be so lovely and warm when it's done. The squares a done in a pretty cool pattern too.
ReplyDeleteBetter to buy books than a lot of other money wasting things. Enjoy your haul!
Read or knit? Knit or read? Oh the dilemma!!!! The squares looks great. I love all those mixed up colors.
ReplyDeleteOooo i love all those coloured squares :-)
ReplyDeleteAnother great haul of books too ;-)
ooOoo! The squares look great! tee hee! I love a good read too!
ReplyDeleteMelanie the colours in those squares look so yummy!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your squares! I was going to do hexipuffs with my leftovers but now I think I like the squares better. How much yardage does each square take?
ReplyDeleteNo need to justify buying a good book (or 20)!
Your blankets going to be so cosy and full of memories of you watching the Olympics.
ReplyDeleteLoving the colors in your new squares, Melanie!! Great job on all that Olympic knitting--it deserves a gold medal, I'd say :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your latest books--looks like you got some good ones. And the best thing is they can be recycled back to the church for it's sale next year, right?
Oh wow! All the colors together look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAnd who can resist a good book sale!?!
Love those squares! It's amazing that so many different colors can go together so well in a beautiful piece. Very nice.
